The first session will involve my getting to know more about you and your goals. This will involve a collaborative process of gathering some history and background for me to get an introductory knowledge of you and your world. This process helps me to understand the nuances of your experiences and the goals you are seeking to work on.
Additionally, an important part of the process involves answering any questions you may have about my approach, recommendations, or therapy. I encourage you to process your sense of fit and trust within our interactions.
Your therapeutic journey will be as unique as you are. Generally speaking, therapy will be guided by your goals and together we will explore your circumstances, relationships, important life events, and other personal factors with the goal of increasing self-knowledge and awareness. This allows us to identify specific coping skills and interventions that facilitate change and growth.
We will focus on immediate, short-term issues, as well as, long standing patterns that may influence various areas of your life, relationships, and overall well-being. The work in therapy will occur on many levels, involving learning new coping skills, problem-solving, and also exploring underlying beliefs, emotions, values, and needs.

Therapy is an enriching, empowering, and rewarding process that can be utilized to bring about desired change, achieve goals, gain understanding of yourself and others, and address all sorts of challenges in your life.
